Outdoor Activity Support Worker (Chester) #Retreat

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking an Outdoor Activity Support Worker in Chester. £14.00 per hour, permanent full-time or flexible bank roles. UK right-to-work required – no sponsorship available.

About the Role

This is an active, hands-on care and support role where you will spend most of your time outdoors, engaging children and young people in meaningful, therapeutic and confidence-building activities. You will support individuals with Autism, Learning Disabilities and mental health needs through structured outdoor experiences that promote wellbeing, independence, emotional resilience and personal growth.

Contract Options

  • Permanent full-time roles (approx. 40 hours per week)
  • Flexible bank roles available (minimum 20 hours per week)
  • A range of shift patterns available including sleep-in shifts

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred support in an outdoor-focused therapeutic environment
  • Plan and deliver activities such as nature walks, creative arts, sports, outdoor play and sensory exploration
  • Support children and young people with Autism, Learning Disabilities and mental health needs
  • Build confidence, independence and emotional resilience through consistent daily engagement
  • Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding procedures
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues – you will never work in isolation

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience or strong interest in outdoor activities, sports, arts or activity-based roles
  • Care or support experience with Autism, Learning Disabilities or Mental Health (desirable but not essential)
  • Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care, or willingness to work towards this
  • A genuine passion for working outdoors in all seasons
  • A caring, patient, reliable approach with a strong sense of responsibility
