Support Worker Waking Nights (Preston)

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a full-time Waking Night Support Worker for its children's residential home in Preston. Salary £14.50-£15.00 per hour, permanent, on-site. No sponsorship available.

About the Role

As a Waking Night Support Worker at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], you will ensure safety, stability and wellbeing for children with Autism, ADHD, Learning Disabilities and complex needs overnight. You'll follow care plans, behaviour support strategies, maintain routines, and complete night-time reporting.

Your Responsibilities

  • Promote safety, stability and wellbeing for children throughout the night
  • Provide reassurance, supervision and support
  • Follow care plans, behaviour support strategies and safeguarding procedures
  • Maintain nighttime routines and support transitions
  • Complete night-time reporting, logs and documentation
  • Work as part of a consistent, supportive team
  • Respond appropriately to incidents and emotional needs

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in care or working with children is helpful but not essential
  • Calm, patient and reliable approach
  • Willingness to work towards Level 3 Children's Residential qualification
  • Understanding of safeguarding or willingness to learn
  • Resilience, empathy and a genuine desire to support young people
  • Ability to remain alert and focused throughout waking night shifts
