Support Worker (Young People 16+)

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Support Worker to support young people aged 16-25 in Bournemouth. This is a full-time, on-site role paying £13.67 per hour (rising when qualified) with 42 hours per week on a rolling rota.

What you’ll do

  • Support a small group of young people in care with life skills, activities, education, prepare for employment and daily routines
  • Create simple support plans, record clear and concise notes in line with Ofsted regulations
  • Keep the home safe, welcoming, clean, tidy and compliant
  • Lone working; able to confidently manage a shift by yourself (support via 24/7 emergency ‘on call’ is available to you)
  • Confidently liaise with external partners such as social workers, local authorities, Police and Ofsted

What you’ll bring

  • Empathy, patience and a calm, “can-do” approach
  • Confidence to work alone and resilience to handle incidents, safeguarding’s and other challenges
  • Experience with young people or other vulnerable groups is essential (paid or voluntary)
  • Willingness to complete a fully funded NVQ Level 4 in Children & Young People
  • Full UK driving licence

Job details
