Accounts Assistant
Location: Ringwood (office-based)
Salary: £28,000 to £30,000 per annum, depending on experience
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
About the role

Based at our Head Office in Ringwood, you’ll be part of a small, supportive finance team that plays a vital role in financially enabling our Children’s Homes and Supported Living Services across the region.
We’re looking for an Accounts Assistant who is keen to develop their career in finance and contribute to a busy, collaborative environment.
What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Finance Director, your responsibilities will include:
- Processing purchase invoices using Xero
- Raising sales invoices and monitoring incoming payments, following up where needed
- Managing supplier invoices and preparing payment runs
- Completing bank and credit card reconciliations
- Processing and reconciling petty cash
- Supporting monthly payroll processes, including timesheets, mileage, and expenses
- Assisting with control account reconciliations and management accounts
- Posting journals and supporting month-end tasks
- Overseeing contracts and services for company vehicles and mobile phones
About you
You’ll already have at least one year of experience in an accounts or finance role and be looking to build on your knowledge.
We’re also looking for someone who is:
- Eager to learn and committed to professional development
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Outlook, and Word)
- Familiar with finance systems (Xero experience is a plus)
- Experienced or interested in payroll processes (advantageous)
- Organised and able to work to deadlines
- A strong communicator with excellent written and spoken English
- Proactive, personable, and a team player
- Detail-oriented, methodical, and able to see tasks through to completion
