Social Care Worker

Reference: 160994 | Location: Shrewsbury | Salary: £24784.50 to £26227.50 per annum | Contract: Temporary, 37.5 hours per week, 3 month Fixed Term Contract

About the role

To provide a caring and person centred service to individuals with learning disabilities and associated complex needs, working flexibly as part of 7 days a week and 24 hour Care Quality Commission (CQC) Registered Service. Delivering a service under the leadership of a Registered Manager you will demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding in line with policy and procedure and empower customers, enhancing life choices and achieving outcomes.

What you’ll be doing

  • Delivering a flexible and responsive service.
  • Working in partnership with customers to co-produce support plans and key records.
  • Delivering high quality, sensitive and dignified personal care for customers.
  • Competent administration of medication, recording relevant information accurately as directed.
  • Monitoring customers’ health and wellbeing, accompanying and supporting customers to their health appointments.
  • Supporting customers with life skills, enablement and positive risk taking.
  • Identifying, accompanying and engaging customers to access meaningful social and cultural activities.

Who we’re looking for?

  • A positive attitude around person centred approaches to working with individuals with learning disabilities and associated complex needs.
  • A working knowledge of legislation and regulation in regards to delivering care support to vulnerable people.
  • Experience of working within a busy care environment.
  • Experience of keeping accurate and compliant records.
  • Experience of working with Microsoft applications.
  • A Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care relevant.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
