FULL DESCRIPTION
Pipefitter / Mechanical Fitter
Location: Bromsgrove, Worcestershire (with regular travel away 2-3 days/week)
Salary: £15–£17 per hour
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Experience: Mid-Senior level
Duties
- Installing pipework up to 100mm (steel, copper, stainless, etc.)
- Assisting with ductwork connections and AHU services
- Factory assembly and mechanical fitting of AHUs
- Connecting heating/cooling coils, condensate drains and associated services
- Working from technical drawings, schematics and layout plans
- Preparing units for delivery and site installation
- Carrying out on‑site adjustments, modifications and minor repairs
- Supporting installation teams during commissioning and handover
- Ensuring all work meets quality and health & safety standards
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Pipefitter or Mechanical Fitter (essential)
- Experience with AHUs, HVAC systems or ductwork (desirable)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong mechanical skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to work both in the factory and on customer sites
- CSCS card, IPAF or PASMA (desirable)
- Full UK driving licence
Benefits & Additional Info
Hours: 40 hours per week. Overtime paid at time‑and‑a‑half for hours over 50 per week. Night rate x1.3, weekend rate x1.5. Benefits include company van, phone, payable travel time, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
