Our aim is to empower intermediaries with deeper product understanding while supporting providers in developing and refining their propositions, helping to drive better financial outcomes across the advice ecosystem.
Omni Protect (part of [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]) is scaling protection distribution across 4,000+ DA firms to improve client outcomes and adviser growth. We’re seeking a Head of Strategic Partners (Protection) to own and grow relationships with protection providers (Life, CI, IP, Health) and strategic referral partners (tech, data, training, medical support and complementary channels).
You’ll define partnership strategy, negotiate and optimise commercials, and lead joint business plans that deliver revenue, margin and quality outcomes. The role includes running a disciplined QBR/JMC cadence and working closely with Product and Tech to deliver integrations, data and workflow improvements. This is a senior, high‑visibility role with C‑suite engagement across insurers and partners.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnerships
- Own the end‑to‑end provider partner portfolio: segmentation, prioritisation and performance.
- Delivery of the provider partner marketing packages to an exceptional standard
- Lead the referral partner relationships to ensure advisers are maximising their services
- Build and deliver multi‑year joint business plans covering targets, commercials, activation, CPD/training, MI and QA.
- Identify and secure new partnerships; lead commercial and contractual negotiations.
- Act as senior escalation point and relationship owner.
Commercials & Performance
- Negotiate and optimise commission, marketing income, fixed fees, incentives and SLAs.
- Deliver revenue, margin and ROI targets with clear forecasting and risk management.
Go‑to‑Market & Enablement
- Co‑create GTM plans with Marketing, Sales and Distribution.
- Consult and sign off provider content for all activity
- Ensure adviser enablement through CPD, sales quality training, complex medical support and campaign toolkits.
- Oversee provider content across events, webinars and digital, ensuring brand and regulatory compliance.
Data, Technology & Governance
- Lead on all the tech relationships with the likes of iPipeline, Iress CIExpert etc.
- Prioritise and deliver partner integrations (quote & apply, APIs, data feeds, workflow, MI).
- Head up a project to bring all our data in house in order to create a brand new data insight tool for our partners
- Use data and market insight to improve commercial and quality outcomes.
- Work with Defaqto and associated businesses to develop data insight
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and develop the Key Account Manager
- Collaborate with the Head of Protection Development to deliver strong results across the wider Protection Team
- Work cross‑functionally with Finance, Product/Tech, Marketing, Sales, Compliance and Operations.
- Represent Omni Protect at industry events and forums.
Success Measures
- Delivery of partner revenue and margin targets.
- Increased case volumes, conversion and protection penetration.
- Improved and protected commercial terms, including fixed fee income and commission
- On‑time delivery of campaigns, integrations and enablement with clear ROI.
- Strong partner relationship health.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Experience
- Senior experience in UK protection (provider or distributor) in partnerships, distribution or commercial roles.
- Proven P&L ownership and commercial negotiation experience.
- Track record of delivering growth and quality outcomes with insurers or large partners.
- Strong data literacy; comfortable with dashboards, MI and forecasting.
- Exposure to tech‑enabled distribution is desirable.
Skills
- Commercially astute, analytical and outcomes‑focused.
- Executive‑level stakeholder management.
- Strong understanding of protection products and market dynamics.
- Clear communicator and effective people leader.
Qualifications
- Relevant industry qualifications advantageous but not essential.
- Strong CPD mindset.
