Food Technology Teacher
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a Food Technology Teacher for a temporary role in South Tyneside. This is a full-time teaching position at a partner secondary school.
The Role
- Deliver engaging and practical lessons in Food Preparation & Nutrition following the National Curriculum
- Teach across KS3 and KS4, preparing students for GCSE Food Technology examinations
- Foster a positive learning environment that promotes creativity, independence, and healthy lifestyles
- Plan and deliver lessons that inspire curiosity and confidence in practical cooking and nutrition
- Assess, track, and report on student progress to ensure achievement and growth
- Collaborate with colleagues within the Design & Technology department
- Adhere to school safeguarding policies and procedures in line with DfE guidance
About You
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or QTLS with a specialism in Food Technology or a related subject
- Experience teaching Food Technology at KS3–KS4 level
- Strong subject knowledge and excellent classroom management skills
- A passion for food education and helping students develop lifelong cooking and nutrition skills
- The ability to engage, support, and challenge learners of all abilities
- Both ECTs and experienced teachers are warmly encouraged to apply
