FULL DESCRIPTION
Quantity Surveyor
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to work part-time (two/three days per week) at their Head Office in Watford. Responsibilities include preparing competitive tenders, maintaining schedules of rates, reconciling cost/value reports, negotiating subcontractor packages, managing sub-contract accounts, submitting valuations and final accounts, and developing professional relationships with architects and clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of competitive tenders and quotes
- Maintain and develop our schedules of rates
- Reconcile cost/value reports and profit forecasts
- Ongoing development of a sub-contract/ Material data base
- Negotiate subcontractor packages/ Process subcontractor requests for payment
- Management and control of sub-contract accounts and variation accounts
- Develop an understanding of the specific contract, ensuring compliance with conditions throughout.
- Measure progress, submit valuations, submit final accounts and retention release requests
- Completing a monthly cost / valuation report and cash flow for the designated projects
- Where appropriate attend project related site meetings
- Manage the expenditure on projects to optimise cashflow
- Maintain and develop professional relationships with architects and clients, to help future business development
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience with SOR Rate Books (preferable)
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Excellent level of numeracy
- IT skills – MS Office, Excel, Project, Word etc
- Industry experience in the role of a Quantity Surveyor
- Excellent Time Management
- Ability to work under pressure
- Confident, Self-motivated & Enthusiastic
- Flexible & adaptable
