This junior role involves day-to-day procurement, developing procurement procedures, coordinating deliveries to construction sites, and assisting project leaders with compliance. The role offers onward professional development within the company.

- Hours: 08:00-17:00, Monday-Friday
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To deal with day-to-day procurement requests received from site, including chasing incorrect or late deliveries to protect revenue.
- To develop and maintain sound procurement procedures whereby materials are purchased at favourable rates and are fit for purpose.
- To co-ordinate deliveries to site to meet the demands of construction programmes in an efficient and cost effective manner.
- Assist project leaders to ensure compliance with Construction Traffic Management
- Assist project leaders to ensure compliance with any project specific procurement policy and the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] general procurement policy.
- Assist project leaders to comply with the Considerate Constructor’s code of practice as relating to procurement and deliveries.
- Maintain and improve on-site practices relating to deliveries and advise/train site operatives through regular ‘toolbox’ talks or newsletters.
Candidate Requirements:
- Understanding of building materials, their uses and how they are sold
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- IT skills – MS Office, Excel, Outlook, Word etc
- Some industry experience as a buyer, working for a merchant or even at site level would be an advantage.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize your workload
- Confident, Self-motivated & Enthusiastic
- Flexible & adaptable. Ability to work both alone and as part of a team
