Deputy Health and Safety Manager
[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking a Deputy Health and Safety Manager to support the Area Health and Safety Manager in ensuring compliance across multiple sites. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mansfield with a salary of £40,551.55 per annum.
Key Responsibilities
- Deputise for the Area Health and Safety Manager during periods of absence
- Provide expert health and safety advice and training to staff, managers and stakeholders
- Work with key staff in creating and managing risk assessments
- Monitor, analyse and report on health and safety data, including accidents, incidents and Legionella results
- Act as a Health and Safety competent person for [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]
- Lead staff health and safety training, including first aid needs assessments and fire warden training
- Play a leading role during external inspections and scheduled audits
- Work closely with the Estates team on compliance matters
- Ensure drivers of college vehicles meet licensing, training and compliance requirements
- Travel across multiple sites as required
What We Are Looking For
- Demonstrable experience in a health and safety role and managing workplace hazards
- Knowledge of risk assessments in the workplace
- Experience of delivering training
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong ICT skills and high attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise a complex and varied workload
- Good organisational skills with strong attention to detail
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of a multi-site organisation
Qualifications
Essential:
- National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
- Certified Member of Professional Body IOSH
- Legionella Management for Responsible Persons
- English, Maths, ICT
- Full driving licence
Desirable: Member of IFSM
Working Hours & Benefits
Monday – Friday – 8:30am – 4:30pm (flexible). 37.5 hours per week (part-time 0.7 considered).
