Residential Member of Staff
[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is looking to appoint a non-teaching Residential Member of Staff for September 2026. This is a full-time, term-time, residential role with accommodation provided. Competitive salary based on experience.
Person Specification
We are looking for a female (GOQ) Residential Member of Staff who is enthusiastic and flexible to be part of a committed team of staff who care for the girls in the evenings, overnight and at weekends. They must enjoy working with young people, have a good sense of humour and sound common sense. They should also have highly developed personal skills and ideally have a background in schools or other caring professions and working with young people. The Line Manager is the Head of Boarding.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the boarding care and routines of pupils.
- Be resident whilst on duty; self-contained accommodation available.
- Maintain a calm, secure and happy community for the pupils.
- Supervise morning routines, bedtime routines, and meal times.
- Liaise with Head of Boarding, Pastoral Deputy Head, and other staff.
- Part of an ‘on call’ rota for duties.
- Assist Head of Boarding in mentoring new boarding staff.
- Update daily electronic confidential boarding logs.
- Oversee boarding areas, hygiene, and report repairs.
Working at St Mary's
This is a full-time, term time appointment. Accommodation is provided. Salary competitive. Specific working days and hours discussed at interview. Holidays during school holidays. Probationary period of three months. Pension scheme via The People's Pension. Meals provided free of charge for staff on duty.
