Platemaking Support Technician
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Group is hiring a Platemaking Support Technician for its Weymouth Print Centre. This hands-on production role involves working flexibly across Platemaking, Press, and Mailroom departments to support newspaper production. Full training is provided. The role operates a fixed weekly shift pattern with no weekend working.

Key Responsibilities
- Managing the production workflow within the plate room
- Plating and de‑plating the press
- Supporting press operations as required
- Assisting the Mailroom team during peak production periods
- Working flexibly across departments to meet production deadlines
- Contributing positively as part of a team‑focused production environment
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Previous experience in the print industry, either in pre‑press or printing, is desirable but not essential
- A good mechanical and technical aptitude, with a willingness to learn new skills
- Experience working in a CTP (Computer‑to‑Plate) environment would be an advantage, but full training will be provided
- Willingness to work across different production areas
- A positive, flexible and team‑focused approach
- Able to undertake a role involving a high degree of physical activity, with a reasonable level of fitness required
