Description

TEXTILE / MACHINE OPERATIVES

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] are a nationwide leading supplier of high quality, technically advanced textiles supplying various sectors of the textile industry. We wish to strengthen our production team by appointing additional operatives to join our high calibre and dedicated workforce.

Reporting to the Production Manager the successful candidates key duties will include :

  • Responsibility for operating various textiles machines, as assigned, ensuring efficient production is maintained and customer demands are fulfilled.
  • Perform basic quality control activities to ensure quality of fabrics - reporting any quality related issues to the Quality Control Manager.
  • Manual manoeuvring of fabric to and from work areas / machines as needed.
  • Record production onto the internal Management Information System.

Essential Criteria:

  • Relevant experience in machine operation and manual handling, ideally gained within the manufacturing sector.
  • Highly effective organisational skills.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Able to work on own initiative (i.e. with minimal supervision) as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Grade 'C' or above in G.C.S.E. (or equivalent) in Maths and English Language.
  • Working knowledge of textile sector.
  • General knowledge of workplace health and safety issues.
  • Current forklift license.

Hours of work will be Monday to Thursday 7.45am to 6.00pm, however candidates may be required to work a reasonable amount of overtime, if necessary.
