Job Description

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is a leading dairy company supplying a wide range of branded consumer products and food ingredients into the UK, Irish and international markets. We now invite applications for the following key position within our Group Technical Centre in Pennybridge, Ballymena.

As part of a dedicated central Laboratory team, working within modern purpose-built facilities, you will be responsible for checking, sorting and logging samples received in the laboratory. The role involves testing of products, ingredients and associated environmental samples for microbiological analysis. The job also involves preparing media for testing and may include specialised testing for projects.

You will be responsible for collating results and inputting data into our Lab Information System and maintaining standards in line with accredited lab procedures. You will be familiar with and follow laboratory test procedures, company health & safety procedures, along with COSHH regulations.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a good level of secondary education. Must have GCSE Maths, English & Science subjects at grade C or above (or equivalent). You will have proven experience of accurate record keeping, meticulous attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.

This is an important role and we are looking for applicants able to work reliably on their own initiative. You will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a successful team. As the Group Laboratory can be a busy environment, you will have a flexible approach to work and the ability to work under pressure to complete duties associated with the microbiological and chemical analysis on samples submitted from [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Group and other external customers.
