About the Role

As we continue our mission to make people happy through chocolate, we’re looking for a Senior Manager, Art Direction & Brand Design to join our in-house Design team on a permanent basis.

Salary: Paying up to £65,000 per annum, open to conversation for the right candidate.

As our Senior Manager for Art Direction & Brand Design, you will be responsible for all creative ideas, art direction and executions across all activity. You will ensure consistency and best presentation of our brand in all channels – marketing (campaigns, media, wholesale, St Lucia, social, brand activations, CRM inc. emails & catalogues, product, PR), website, retail.

Here at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], we've adopted hybrid working. This means you’ll join us onsite for three days a week, and for the other two days – you can work from wherever you like! The onsite location for this role is our Design Studio, Whitechapel High Street, London, our creative hub just a stone’s throw from Aldgate East tube station.

Additional travel across the UK for photo shoots or wider departmental meetings will be required on an ad-hoc basis.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Bring the global brand strategy and positioning to life through the generation of ideas for campaigns that are innovative, impactful, relevant, and work across multiple channels.
  • Lead, inspire, motivate, and manage a team of talented multi-disciplined designers and content creators.
  • Generate clear ideas, concepts and impressive campaigns that stimulate targeted audiences, working in close tandem with the copywriter, marketeers, and creative peers.
  • Through creative thinking, strong research skills and reference points, redefine the brief and elevate projects in order to engage and inspire.
  • Present and articulate concepts clearly, communicate positively, and debate with peers and influence various stakeholders.
  • Embrace constructive critique of your and your team’s work, whilst standing up for what you believe to be right when appropriate.
  • Art direct and oversee still life and video shoots, ensuring our visuals are on–brand, contemporary and desirable.
  • Lead the liaison with our creative production with pre and post shoot requirements.
  • Oversee the development of asset toolkits to enable execution partners to deliver in line with the concept.
  • Lead and engage the team with regular check-ins, coaching / mentorship, and regular appraisals to help drive professional development and achieve their creative potential.
  • Constantly curate, oversee and take ownership of the bank of visual assets in the business, ensuring the best images and videos are used consistently across all channels from social media to ecommerce, direct mails etc.
  • Be an enthusiastic individual, immersed in contemporary culture, style and brand, who lives and breathes design and is passionate about their work.
  • Drive continuous improvements, learning from external and internal sources by leading trend reviews, competitor reviews, lessons learnt sessions, etc.

Who you are…

Essential

  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • An outstanding portfolio of Art Direction work for clients across premium to luxury brands.
  • Experience of leading and developing a creative team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and influence others to drive things forward.
  • Ability to present creative work to the highest standard in an inspiring, professional way.

Desirable

  • Able to travel throughout UK as required.
  • Excellent client facing skills.
  • Track record in delivering campaign that work on a global scale, not just for UK markets.
  • Excellent knowledge of photographers, illustrators, animators, and creative talent across the industry.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and not only cope with, but actually thrive in a constantly changing environment.
