The Role

To support our ambitious growth plans, we are now looking for a Software Developer to join our existing team. This role reports into the IT Application Manager and will provide support to the IT Operations team in fixing issues, training on new solutions and collaboration with other members of the IT and TMO teams on defined projects to deliver IT Services and solutions to defined deadlines. As IT technologies develop, so we need to develop as well. Therefore, there is a strong element of developing one’s skills in-line with the latest technologies aligned to the businesses needs and objectives.

This is a full-time, permanent, 40 hour per week role based at our Head Office in Royston, that also offers up to 2 days per week from home.

Show Us How It’s Done

  • Develop full stack web solutions
  • Create and enhance web applications, primarily using C#, .Net, WPF, Entity Framework with Angular, ReactJS frontend application stack
  • Get involved with all stages of the software development life cycle, from definition to delivery
  • Update and apply modern software development practices into Development projects
  • Work closely with the Business Analysts and Testing teams in delivery of solutions

Who You Are & What You Have

Essential

  • Proven experience as a Software Developer
  • Able to demonstrate proven ability in commercial software development using C#, .Net Core, JavaScript, Angular, ReactJS
  • Full software development lifecycle experience in successful projects, utilising good software development and quality management practices
  • Experience working with SQL Server as a relational database.
  • Knowledge and understanding of DevOps.
  • The ability to create efficient and robust designs for software components and effectively communicate these to stakeholders, ensuring an accurate implementation and that advantages of the design are used to best effect
  • Enthusiasm for learning and developing your skills, taking advantage of all provided mentoring and training opportunities
  • A desire to work in an inclusive environment where everyone feeds into continuous improvement and where all team members share knowledge to nurture the team’s overall skill base
  • A proven history of being an excellent team player and care deeply about the commitments your team collaboratively makes

Desirable

  • Experience working with Azure cloud, Azure DevOps & pipelines highly advantageous.
  • DevOps experience, including configuring and maintaining tooling
  • Understanding of Microsoft Power Platform suite (Automate & Power/BI).
