Job Type: Full-time

POSITION PURPOSE: The primary purpose of your position is to maintain medical records in accordance with federal and state guidelines, as well as in accordance with our established policies and procedures, to assure that a complete medical records program is maintained.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Consistently demonstrate Sanctuary Values to all internal and external customers.
  • Execute assignments in a culture that is shared and collaborative across all divisions within TSLC.
  • Charts: Prepare new charts for admissions, maintain proper forms, assign admission numbers, prepare manila folder and index card, take pictures for MARS/TARS and elopement book.
  • Enter information and documentation accurately in Care Tracker.
  • Pick up telephone orders each day and send to physicians for signatures.
  • Thinning Records: Thin out overflow and file quarterly, keep charts neat & tidy.
  • Close out medical records: ensure proper documents signed, file chart, prepare old files for off-site storage, record all discharges and expirations.
  • Request paperwork from ancillary sites.
  • Log all medical record requests internal and external, make copies and send assigned letter.
  • Maintain a neat and organized work area.
  • As assigned, may log physician visits, report to DON, participate in charge audit, provide relief coverage, participate in quarterly medical record audit, order supplies.
  • Attend and participate in scheduled training and educational classes.
  • Report occupational exposures in accordance with community policies.
