Facilities and Maintenance Manager

The Facilities and Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing and delivering both planned and reactive maintenance activities across the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] owned store estate. The role ensures all properties are maintained to agreed standards of safety, functionality, and presentation, while delivering value for money and high-quality service through effective contractor and stakeholder management. This role covers [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] owned stores and reactive maintenance activity at the LDC.

About the Role

  • Develop and implement cyclical maintenance programmes for soft services (e.g. internal and external decoration, grounds maintenance, cleaning, etc.).
  • Monitor the condition of all building assets through regular inspections and maintain centralised survey reports.
  • Monitor, control, and analyse maintenance expenditure to ensure value for money.
  • Identify and forecast significant capital expenditure (Capex) requirements to support annual budget planning.
  • Support procurement processes by ensuring competitive tendering and cost-effective supplier performance.
  • Liaise with contractors and end-users to ensure high-quality workmanship, site safety, and security.
  • Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for maintenance delivery, driving continuous improvement.
  • Assist with the delivery of capital works and refurbishment projects at Stores, Head Office and the Distribution Centre.
  • Support sustainability and efficiency initiatives across the property estate.

About You

  • Experience in multi-site maintenance and property management.
  • Strong contractor management and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of building compliance, H&S, and statutory maintenance requirements.
  • Ability to manage budgets and forecast expenditure effectively.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and reporting skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and CAFM systems.
