About Us

We’re passionate about great games and great hospitality - creating a welcoming space for everyone to enjoy Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, Warhammer, Yu-Gi-Oh!, board games, and more. We’re looking for friendly, reliable team members who share our enthusiasm for games and people, helping us deliver excellent customer service, great drinks and snacks from our bar, and a fun, inclusive environment.

The Role

As a Casual Team Member, you’ll be part of a small, passionate team helping to make [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] a destination for players and newcomers alike. Your responsibilities will be varied, covering both bar and retail tasks, as well as hosting gaming events.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and serve customers in a friendly, professional, and inclusive way
• Support and host in-store events such as Dungeons & Dragons, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Warhammer, or board game nights
• Serve alcohol, soft drinks and snacks as well as hot beverages (e.g. coffees, teas) and maintain food hygiene standards
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness e.g. clearing and cleaning tables, loading dishwashers, sweeping/mopping floors, and keeping all areas comfortable and inviting
• Process sales accurately, restock shelves, and keep displays tidy and appealing.
• Help ensure a safe and secure environment for customers and staff, and staying vigilant to protect stock and prevent theft or damage
• Represent the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] brand positively and professionally at all times

About You

You’re warm, confident, and customer-focused - the kind of person who makes people feel welcome straight away. You don’t need to be a gaming expert, but you should have some understanding or curiosity about tabletop games and the communities around them.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Background in hospitality, bar, or café work and comfortable serving customers and maintaining high standards of cleanliness
• Confident working with retail tills and handling cash/card transactions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable, adaptable, and proactive - willing to pitch in wherever needed
• Able to maintain high standards of service in a busy environment

Desirable Skills & Interests

• Interest and understanding in tabletop games, such as Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, Warhammer, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokemon, or board games
• Experience running or participating in gaming events
• Previous retail experience, particularly in a specialist or independent store
• Awareness of inclusive practices and creating welcoming spaces

• £13.68 per hour (includes 12.07% rolled up holiday pay) Equivalent to £12.21 per hour basic pay plus statutory holiday pay.
