Role

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control /Quality Assurance Inspector to join our Quality team. This role is critical in ensuring that materials, components, and finished products meet strict quality, regulatory, and customer requirements.

Working across goods-in, in-process, and final inspection stages, you will support the delivery of high-quality military medicines and marine equipment, ensuring full compliance with GDP, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out incoming inspections, verifying materials and components against specifications, drawings, and supplier documentation (CoC/CoA, batch/lot traceability).
  • Perform in-process inspections on the shop floor, including workmanship, assembly, and traceability checks, providing real-time feedback to production teams.
  • Conduct final inspections to ensure products meet specifications, labelling, packaging, and customer requirements prior to release.
  • Use measurement tools and inspection equipment (e.g. calipers, gauges, templates) to perform accurate testing and verification.
  • Identify and control nonconforming products, raising NCRs and supporting containment, rework, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate quality records and traceability documentation, ensuring compliance with QMS requirements.
  • Support investigations, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work in line with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards, including environmental and safety procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to health & safety requirements, PPE, and controlled product handling where applicable

What we are looking for

  • Experience in a manufacturing quality inspection role, covering incoming, in-process, and final inspection.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and workmanship standards.
  • Confident use of measurement tools and inspection equipment.
  • Understanding of nonconformance control, traceability, and quality documentation.
  • Good IT skills for recording and reporting (QMS/ERP/Excel).
  • Clear communicator with the confidence to challenge and stop processes where required.
  • Knowledge of GDP and MHRA standards is essential.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to consistently apply quality standards
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and workmanship standards
  • Confident use of measurement tools (e.g. calipers, gauges, templates, fixtures)
  • Good IT skills for recording and reporting (QMS/ERP/Excel)
  • Clear communication skills with the confidence to challenge and stop processes when required
  • Practical problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing quality inspection role (incoming, in-process, and final inspection)
  • Proven competence in measurement, inspection, and accurate record keeping
  • Experience managing nonconformance and maintaining traceability
  • Knowledge of GDP and MHRA standards
