[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Head of Data Insights and AI. This is a full-time, remote position based in the UK (London, Leeds, Manchester). Salary: £65,000+.

The opportunity

As Head of Data Insights & AI, you will lead [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]'s Data team and help shape how data is used across the agency. Your role will combine leadership, technical understanding and strategic thinking. You’ll guide the team in producing high-quality datasets and insights while also helping the wider agency better understand search behaviour, audience trends and performance data. You will oversee the development of [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]'s internal data infrastructure and analytical capability, ensuring our teams can access reliable and meaningful insights when they need them. You will also work closely with leadership and operations to identify opportunities where automation, AI and improved tooling can support how the agency operates. The role operates as a player coach, staying close to the technical work while developing and guiding the team.

Key objective

To lead [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]'s data function and ensure data is structured, analysed and applied in ways that strengthen campaign performance, inform strategy and improve how the agency operates. The role oversees the Data team, internal data infrastructure and analytical capability, ensuring teams across the agency can access reliable insights from search data, marketing analytics and campaign datasets. The position will also support the development of automation and AI initiatives within the data function, helping the agency continue to evolve how data supports organic search performance and innovation.

Core responsibilities

Data Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and develop [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]'s Data team, maintaining high standards of analysis, output and professional development
  • Define and evolve the agency’s data capability to support campaign delivery and service innovation
  • Manage team capacity, prioritisation and planning across campaign datasets and analytical work
  • Act as the senior point of ownership for data insight across the agency

Data Analysis & Search Insight

  • Analyse search data, marketing analytics and audience behaviour to identify meaningful trends and opportunities
  • Support SEO, GEO, Content and Digital PR teams with insights that inform organic growth strategies
  • Help teams better understand organic performance, search demand and user behaviour
  • Translate complex data into clear insights that support decision-making

Campaign Data & Insights

  • Oversee dataset sourcing, scraping and data collection used in Digital PR and content campaigns
  • Ensure strong standards of data validation, credibility and methodology
  • Guide analysts in identifying compelling insights within datasets
  • Ensure findings are translated into clear narratives and visual outputs

Data Infrastructure & Automation

  • Oversee the organisation and development of [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]'s internal data repositories and datasets
  • Support scalable data workflows, structured repositories and cloud-based systems
  • Identify opportunities where automation improves data sourcing and analysis
  • Work with Operations and technical resources to support AI-enabled workflows and internal tooling

Commercial & Agency Support

  • Support pitches and proposals where analytical capability strengthens the agency’s offering
  • Help communicate [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]'s data capability and methodology to prospective clients
  • Contribute to the development of new services or proprietary datasets that strengthen [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]'s organic search offering

About you

We’re looking for someone who enjoys turning data into insights that help people make better decisions. You’re comfortable leading a team while staying technically credible, and you enjoy helping analysts develop their skills.

You likely bring:

  • Strong experience in data analytics, data science or insights roles
  • A Master's in Data, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Experience leading or mentoring analysts or technical team members
  • Strong technical capability with Python, SQL, R or similar analytical environments
  • Experience working with large datasets and automated workflows
  • Experience managing structured data repositories or internal data systems
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience with web scraping or data sourcing methodologies
  • Strong understanding of marketing analytics including GA4
  • Experience analysing search data and digital performance trends
  • The ability to translate complex data into clear insights and narratives
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of how insights connect to business outcomes
  • Awareness of emerging AI regulation (e.g. EU AI Act) and ability to ensure responsible, compliant use of AI within the organisation
