The Role
As an Account Manager, you will take ownership of both existing and prospective client accounts within your region. You will focus on nurturing long-term partnerships, identifying growth opportunities within your account base, and actively securing new business to support the company’s continued expansion. This is a field-based role requiring regular travel, with the flexibility to stay away from home when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and developing a portfolio of existing client accounts, building strong and lasting relationships
- Identifying and capitalising on opportunities to grow revenue within your accounts
- Proactively generating new business through networking, meetings and market research
- Promoting short, medium- and long-term vehicle hires
- Developing regional sales plans, including forecasting and growth projections
- Arranging and attending face-to-face meetings with both new and existing clients
- Taking a consultative, end-to-end approach to vehicle hire and account management, including framework agreements
- Keeping up to date with industry trends and market developments
- Collaborating with internal teams to support sales and marketing initiatives
- Providing regular feedback and market insight to senior leadership, including reporting on client activity, pipeline development, competitor trends and overall performance.
Experience & Requirements
- Proven experience in both account management and new business development
- Background in self-drive commercial vehicle hire, HGV rental or specialist commercial vehicles preferred
- Knowledge of equipment such as tippers, tipper grabs, hot boxes, beavertails, sweepers, crane or gully vehicles is advantageous.
