[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Limited are seeking a driven and commercially focused Account Manager to join our established and growing commercial vehicle hire business. This is a dynamic role that combines the management and development of existing client relationships with the proactive generation of new business opportunities.

With over 45 years of industry experience, we are a market leader in self-drive commercial vehicle hire. Operating nationally, with offices in Wolverhampton (Head Office), Stirlingshire, Somerset, Kent and Belfast, alongside a network of mobile service engineers, we deliver high-quality, specialist vehicles to sectors including municipal, utilities, highways, environmental services and builders’ merchants.

Our fleet of approximately 1,300 vehicles includes specialist assets such as insulated tippers, tipper grabs, asphalt hot boxes, gully emptiers, sweepers, crane vehicles, a rapidly growing range of LCV’s and more, all maintained to the highest standards.

The Role

As an Account Manager, you will take ownership of both existing and prospective client accounts within your region. You will focus on nurturing long-term partnerships, identifying growth opportunities within your account base, and actively securing new business to support the company’s continued expansion.

This is a field-based role requiring regular travel, with the flexibility to stay away from home when required.

Location: The role is based in the South of England, covering the whole region south of Birmingham. A full, clean driving licence is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and developing a portfolio of existing client accounts, building strong and lasting relationships
  • Identifying and capitalising on opportunities to grow revenue within your accounts
  • Proactively generating new business through networking, meetings and market research
  • Promoting short, medium- and long-term vehicle hires
  • Developing regional sales plans, including forecasting and growth projections
  • Arranging and attending face-to-face meetings with both new and existing clients
  • Taking a consultative, end-to-end approach to vehicle hire and account management, including framework agreements
  • Keeping up to date with industry trends and market developments
  • Collaborating with internal teams to support sales and marketing initiatives
  • Providing regular feedback and market insight to senior leadership, including reporting on client activity, pipeline development, competitor trends and overall performance

Experience & Requirements

  • Proven experience in both account management and new business development
  • Background in self-drive commercial vehicle hire, HGV rental or specialist commercial vehicles preferred
  • Knowledge of equipment such as tippers, tipper grabs, hot boxes, beavertails, sweepers, crane or gully vehicles is advantageous
