Salary: £62,215 - £72,293 per annum (Band 8b)

Contract: Permanent, Full-time - 37.5 hours per week

Job Overview

The North Cumbria Inpatient Care Group has an exciting opportunity for a motivated, values driven and passionate senior nurse for the role as Nurse Consultant. The Nurse Consultant will have significant clinical experience and a proven record of clinical leadership, change management and innovation. The role will encompass expert clinical nursing care along with key responsibilities for service developments, education and training, professional leadership and consultancy.

Main Duties

  • Contribute to the strategic direction for nursing practice within designated Clinical Business Unit.
  • Take the lead in extending boundaries and creating frameworks for enhancement of nursing within specialty.
  • Exercise full responsibility and autonomy for therapy of clients.
  • Provide direct AC/RC duties for patients with learning disability, personality disorder, or mental illness.
  • Develop knowledge and evidence base, deliver specific treatments to reduce risk.
  • Take leadership and raise profile of team work.

Person Specification

Qualifications (Essential)

  • First level Registered Nurse
  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • Postgraduate qualification at Masters level or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of experience in therapeutic interventions (nurse Prescribing, CBT, DBT, PSI, EFT, NLP, Family Interventions, Group work)

Experience (Essential)

  • Experience working with a range of organisations
  • Extensive experience in areas relevant to designated team
  • Experience working therapeutically with adults of all ages
  • Substantial experience in a nursing leadership role
  • Led service development changes
