Brief Description

Assisting with all aspects of design within a team delivering the complete design of a water processing plant in the UK.

Qualifications Required

  • GCSE or equivalent – English, Maths and Science

  • Able to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks

Training to be Provided

This 4 year programme will include:

  • Engineering Basic Skills training – off the job full time at Make UK in Aston, Birmingham
  • NVQ Level 3 in Engineering
  • A Technical Certificate (BTEC Diploma Level 3 in Engineering)
  • In house training in line with your requirements.

We are experts in water. We are looking to take on a CAD Design engineering apprentice to join our design team. The role will include the following tasks:

  • Assist with the design of a project or tender.
  • Assist with generating requirements for equipment or service to be purchased and define the key requirements by means of equipment specification.
  • Assist with evaluating quotations and develop to a point of technical compliance.
  • Contribute towards the supply-chain design documentation and integrate into the wider plant design.
  • Work with CAD designer and other design engineers to create and evolve P+ID, General Arrangement and detailed drawings to define the plant design.
  • Assist with developing piping and equipment layouts.
  • Contribute to HAZOP process. (Hazard and Operability Analysis)
  • Contribute towards Design Risk Assessment and capture outcome.
  • Work with the CAD Designer to communicate and retain close-liaison with site managers and commissioning managers during relevant stages of the project.
  • Liaise with client design engineers to ensure compliance and to integrate design into wider plant design.
  • Manage work-load to achieve the design deliverables required of the project / tender.
