Brief Description

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] are seeking to employ and highly train two apprentices in the world of manufacturing. The initial training will be broad based leading to a first appointment as an Electrical Biased Maintenance Engineer.

Qualifications Required

A minimum of 3 GCSE's, or equivalent, at grades 9-4 / A* - C, these must include maths and English.

Personal Qualities

We are looking for someone who is keen to learn, hardworking and diligent with an analytical mindset.

Training to be Provided

This 4 year programme will include:

  • Engineering Basic Skills training – off the job full time at Make UK in Aston, Birmingham
  • NVQ Level 3 in Engineering
  • A Technical Certificate (BTEC Diploma Level 3 in Engineering)
  • In house training in line with your requirements.

This a varied roles covering:

  • Working in the main with an experienced engineer, you will be taking part in fault-finding on Electrical, Mechanical Pneumatic (air powered) and Hydraulic (oil powered) equipment. Once faults are identified, you will support the repair process and as your skills grow, you will end your apprenticeship leading this process
  • You will also work on Preventative Planned Maintenance PPM as well as energy related projects to help monitor and reduce Gas, Water and Electric Consumption and data gathering of all three

Together with invaluable commercial and practical experience, you’ll gain several academic and vocational qualifications throughout your time with us and Make UK, which are fully paid for, including:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence)
  • Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)

Other Information

Shift work will become a vital part of this role as the Business needs to be supported by Engineering at all times. Working at heights (training to be given) and the ability to work unsupervised is essential.
