Qualifications Required

  • For a level 3 apprenticeship, we will expect you to have completed your GCSEs and will have obtained a minimum of 3 GCSEs, or equivalent, at grade 4 / C or above.

You can look at some of the different incredible career paths on offer: - Design Engineering - Manufacturing (machining, tool making, CNC operation) - Quality Engineering (metrology) - Maintenance Engineering (electrical, mechanical, multi-skilled, Field based) - Process Engineering. A level 3 apprenticeship takes 4 years, where you will spend the first year at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], paid and employed, where you will learn your hands on skills in the workshop as well as beginning a classroom-based diploma. In your second year, spending the majority of your time at work, you will attend [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] on a day release basis to complete your classroom-based qualification, before moving into years 3 and 4 where you will spend all of your time at your employer company and completing a vocational qualification. If you live outside of the West Midlands, you may be entitled to our residential course, where you will stay in a fully funded hotel, paid for by your employer, on a half board basis during the time you are at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]. Please bear in mind that you must be able to commute to your employer from your home. The hotel stay does not cover when you are back at your place of work, only when you are at the training provider. A [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to learn at an incredible state of the art training facility from some highly talented instructors, have a personal Training and Development Advisor who will support you throughout your journey as well as working alongside a number of other apprentices on a similar journey to you. When you graduate from your 4 year apprenticeship, you will have achieved several qualifications (BTEC level 3, NVQ Level 3 in Engineering and level 2 development qualifications) as well as gaining 4 years’ work experience. You should also progress into a permanent engineering position within your company. You will not be expected to pay tuition fees or obtain student loans, instead you will be paid to learn. You will be expected to work hard throughout your apprenticeship, however what you will gain from your apprenticeship will more than make up for this. Other Information

Working in engineering and manufacturing can prove to be noisy at extreme temperatures, sometimes dirty / dusty and you may be expected to work at height or work with heavy lifting. The work can be very satisfying and with the impending skills shortage across the UK, you could be set for life as long as you put the work in. This apprenticeship has expired.
