Brief Description

In this unique and diverse role, the successful candidate will work as part of a team to provide technical support and expertise for all areas of the Engineering and Manufacturing function. You will also be responsible for managing your own projects, including identifying and developing opportunities to use 3D Printing within our production process

Qualifications Required

  • Maths, English, Science GCSE Grades 5 +

  • Excellent hands-on skills with a mathematical mindset.
  • Good clear communication skills at all levels, both written and verbal.
  • Able to work well as part of a team.
  • Able to manage own projects in an organised way
  • Good timekeeping and flexibility in line with overtime availability.
  • Willing to learn and undertake any training required for the role, both internal & external

Skills Required

  • Be computer literate – MS Word / Excel / PowerPoint / Power BI

Training to be Provided

This 4 year programme will include:

  • Engineering Basic Skills training – off the job full time at Make UK in Aston, Birmingham
  • NVQ Level 3 in Engineering
  • A Technical Certificate (BTEC Diploma Level 3 in Engineering)
  • In house training in line with your requirements.

Future Prospects

Following the successful completion of your Apprenticeship, you will progress into a full-time employed position within the business. In future, should a position become available, the opportunity would exist for you to progress to a Team Leader position.

In this unique and diverse role, the successful candidate will work as part of a team to provide technical support and expertise for all areas of the Engineering and Manufacturing function including:

You will also be responsible for managing your own projects, including identifying and developing opportunities to use 3D Printing within our production process. This will involve creating and modifying 3D CAD components for 3D printing, creating 3D printed parts to complement manufacturing activities and completing the final inspection using our 3D inspection arm (Faro) and software.

Whilst learning and developing within this apprenticeship, you will also be able to help with the company’s transition to digital manufacturing processes via real-time data collection from across the factory, managing this data via the latest appropriate software tools, and assisting with the implementation of a new ERP system.
