Brief Description
As an Apprentice you will learn how to service, maintain and repair [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] endoscopes along with other medical devices in the Slough repair department whilst attending college and gaining a relevant Engineering qualification.
Qualifications Required
- Essential: 5 GCSEs at 9 – 4 / A* - C (5 or above preferred), must include maths, English language, and ideally Science, or equivalent related qualification.

- Ability to demonstrate an interest in engineering such as hobbies, voluntary work, previous work experience or engineering related school subjects
Training to be Provided
- Engineering Basic Skills training – off the job full time at Make UK in Aston, Birmingham
- NVQ Level 3
- A Technical Certificate (BTEC Diploma Level 3)
- In house training in line with your requirements.

Your apprenticeship will involve undertaking a series of attachments in various departments in [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] in order to build knowledge and experience to include:
- Repair Assessment: In depth diagnosis and assessment of medical devices
- Repair: Diagnosis, repair and functional testing of medical endoscopes to component level
- Electronic Repair: Fault diagnosis, service, repair and functional testing of electronic devices
- Technical Services: Support and administer related engineering support services to internal and external customers
- Field Service: in field support to existing customers providing both first and second line support functions
- To gain experience and a complete understanding of the whole organisation in other business functions outside of engineering such as: Contracts, Customer services, Sales and marketing
This is a 4 year course where you will spend 9 months in the first year at our training partner's facility in Birmingham in a half board hotel, funded and organised by the company. In year 2 you will be required to attend the training facility on block release for 1 week every 5 to 6 weeks. Years 3 & 4 will be spent at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] with Make UK staff visiting to assess your work on site.
Other Information
You will be staying in Birmingham all week during your first year, in a hotel, with the other residential apprentices.
