Brief Description

An exciting opportunity to gain an Apprenticeship with [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] UK Manufacturing, we offer hands on experience and opportunities to learn our full manufacturing process. We will train you to assemble products per diagrams and templates, using hand tools, power tools and metalworking machinery.

Qualifications Required

  • GCSE Grade 4 / C or above in Maths
  • GCSE Grade 4 / C or above in English

Personal Qualities

  • Excellent time keeping and attendance is essential
  • An interest in working in a Manufacturing environment
  • Able to work well as part of a team and take instruction well.

Training to be Provided

Together with invaluable commercial and practical experience, you’ll gain several academic and vocational qualifications throughout your time with us, which are fully paid for, including: Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence) – off the job full time at Make UK in Aston, Birmingham in year 1; Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence); Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge); In house training in line with your requirements.

Future Prospects

Following successful completion of your Apprenticeship, you will progress to a full-time skilled position within the business as a Mechanical Assembler. We are keen to develop individuals internally and many previous Apprentices have progressed into different roles within the company.

We’re seeking an Apprentice Mechanical Assembler, the role is responsible for the assembly of [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] equipment, following engineering drawings. It involves completing all mechanical operations in line with safety measures to a high level of accuracy and with minimal errors according to the drawing. Assemble [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] products as per works orders, diagrams and templates using hand tools, power tools and metalworking machinery; Fit and assemble components using fixtures/hand tools/ portable power tools e.g grinders, drills, riveters etc.; Removing metal burrs using hand files or portable grinders; Assemble bespoke machinery e.g. bend and install pipework, align and mesh gears to assemble system of gears, operate drill presses or riveting machines as part of assembly operation. In exchange for your dedication we offer a generous salary of £292 per week when at Make UK (based on 36.5 hour week) and £320 per week in company (based on 40 hour week) as well as a Company pension scheme (employer 7%, employee 2%), Death in Service benefit, 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, birthday leave.
