Mini Bus Driver

This term-time only role offers a minimum of 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, driving one of the school's minibuses on the home-to-school service. Contracted Monday – Friday term time only, with contracted hours of a minimum of 25 hours per week.

Job Description
Job Title: Mini Bus Driver
Reporting to: Facilities Manager

Principal Role
The School Facilities team is responsible for all school facilities. The Mini Bus Driver reports to the Facilities Manager and is responsible for driving one of the school Mini buses on the Home to school service (H2SS), cleaning and maintaining the buses, and recording pupil attendance. We are seeking an experienced Bus driver with a current PSV license. Initiative and flexibility are key attributes.
Detailed Role
- Vehicle Maintenance Checks: Carry out daily checks, record condition and mileage, ensure dash cam and tracker work, check fuel levels, keep bus clean.
- Driving: Ensure latest pupil list, check phones for updates, be punctual, open doors for pupils, ensure seatbelts, safely store bags, follow transport policy, report issues, use tachographs.
- Additional Mini Bus services: Opportunity for extra runs (airport, sports, trips). Buses need 10-weekly checks, MOTs, servicing.
- Health & Safety: Aware of COSHH, Risk Assessments, Method statements. Ensure trained on equipment.
- Meetings: Attend termly department meetings.
- Staff: Support facilities staff, school staff, and pupils when required.
