Evening Cleaner

The role involves cleaning school facilities and reporting to the Facilities Team Leader. No salary specified.
Role Overview
We are a successful, forward-thinking, co-educational independent school. [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is an independent, co-educational school located near the centre of Wisbech. The school offers a broad, high-quality education for around 600 children aged 2-19. The evening cleaner position is for 25 hours per week term time (16:30 – 21:30).
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning classrooms, toilets, changing rooms, staff rooms, circulation areas, refectory, pavilion, 6th form centre, sports hall, assembly buildings, offices, maintenance workshop, DT workshop.
- Removing rubbish and locking up the school (closing windows, turning off lights, setting alarms).
- Performing deep cleans during holiday periods.
- Covering housekeeping duties for international boarders as needed.
- Attending team meetings and 1-2-1s with supervisor.
Person Specification
- Computer skills in Excel, Outlook, Word.
- Experience of working in a cleaning team in complex buildings.
- Experience of working as a Caretaker/Porter or in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of cleaning materials and techniques.
- Excellent communication and record-keeping skills.
- Flexibility, physical fitness, and commitment to confidentiality.
