Practice Educator

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking an experienced Practice Educator to join their Education Team. This is a 22.5 hours per week, 2-year fixed-term contract based in Bury St Edmunds, UK.

About the Role

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is a local charity providing help, advice and support to people in West Suffolk and Thetford. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Practice Educator to join our expanding [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] ([Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]) Education Team. This role will work across West Suffolk and Thetford, supporting a holistic and consistent approach to the delivery of high‑quality palliative and end‑of‑life care across the wider health and care system. The postholder will also be responsible for leading the development of clinical practice education within the Hospice, working alongside our clinical staff to ensure the provision of high quality, safe and compassionate care.

Hours: 22.5 per week (some flexibility on working hours will be required to ensure educational activity can be provided across shift patterns). 2-year fixed-term contract.

Key Requirements

  • Registrant with experience in palliative or end-of-life care
  • Extensive experience of teaching, mentoring and developing clinical staff
  • Ability to develop creative approaches to palliative care learning
  • Passion and commitment to hospice values
  • Highly organised with excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Good understanding of research and up-to-date knowledge of palliative care
