FULL DESCRIPTION

Volunteer Catering Assistant (Ward)

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is looking for Volunteer Catering Assistants to assist patients, families, and employees on our Inpatient Unit.

Location: [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], Hardwick Lane, Bury Saint Edmunds, UK

Main Duties

  • To offer assistance where needed for IPU patients, including assisting patients with meal ordering, feeding and drinks (after relevant training). Escalating any concerns to the Nursing team.
  • To provide beverages to patients alongside the catering team/Nursing team as required, and ensure water jugs are replenished regularly.
  • To assist in serving patients' meals, removing trays, returning trolleys, crockery, etc to the main kitchen. Cleaning and packing away these items.
  • To update patient diet and fluid monitoring sheets.
  • To ensure the IPU kitchen is clean and tidy at all times, including loading/unloading the dishwasher, cleaning fridge/freezer etc.
  • To ensure the staff fridge is regularly checked and cleaned.
