Roaming Activity Instructor - Berkshire

Salary: £106.68 - £130.28 (excluding an additional 12.07% holiday pay)

About The Role

Reporting to: Camp Manager
Hours: 8am – 6pm weekdays. Full time or part time roles available.

The role of Senior Activity Instructor is to deliver outstanding, structured sports sessions, arts and crafts and games to groups of children across our [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], with emphasis on participation, structure, and development. You will also have a pastoral role, being a group leader and key contact for the group of children on camp.

This is a roaming role and so you will not be assigned to one camp. Instead, the Roaming Senior Activity Instructor will be assigned a weekly route across camps within their local area but will have to react to any emergency changes at short notice. This is a Senior Role with successful candidates working across multiple programmes and roles. You may be required to support the Camp Manager in performing their duties, supporting new staff and liaising with the Head Office.

About You

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified in, or working towards relevant qualifications in childcare, sport, art or education, with experience taking sole charge of a group of children.
  • Able to tailor the delivery and structure of a session according to age and ability.
  • Have a valid driving licence and use of your own car so you can travel to and from camps in your local area.
  • Have a mobile phone so that you can keep in touch with the Recruitment and Operations Team who will be deploying you as and when camps require support.
  • Be enthusiastic, energetic and passionate about working developing children through play and activity.
  • Good organisation and communication skills. Candidates must be confident in their ability to lead a group of children and not shy away from responsibility.
  • Excellent communicator, with great face-to-face customer service skills. Candidates must be confident in their ability to interact with parents.
  • A proactive and conscientious team player, able to adapt to dynamic situations and challenges on camp.
  • Someone looking for a sometimes challenging but hugely rewarding and enjoyable job in the holidays, looking to broaden their career in the childcare industry.

Desirable Requirements

  • Ideally have worked with [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] before so that candidates can reliably benefit any camp in any situation and lead activities across a range of ages.
  • Some management or supervisory experience is desirable.
  • Hold a Paediatric First Aid (12 hour or 6 hour) qualification.
