Quality Inspector

Job Summary
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the conformity of product through the build process and at final inspection. Inspecting products, materials and processes at various stages to ensure they meet specified standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for dimensional inspections of sub-contracted and in-house manufactured parts, assemblies, and /or sub-assemblies in accordance with the associated technical specifications.
- Conduct inspection in accordance to an agreed inspection sheet criteria, applicable engineering drawing(s), standards and the associated purchase order(s).
- Utilise appropriate measurement equipment and fixtures to conduct the inspection.
- Carry out the visual inspection of components using microscopes/digital microscopes to defined criteria.
- In the event of non-compliance of product, report detail through the company’s internal MRB process.
- Check of stock for containment of identified quality issues and identify of non-conforming material.
- Ensure calibration and maintenance is performed on inspection equipment.
Essential Qualifications
- Capable of performing inspection of components
- Understanding of Engineering Drawings
- Understanding of basic report writing
- PC skills such as Outlook, Word, Excel
- Previous inspection role experience
Desirable Qualifications
- Engineering apprenticeship
- Engineering qualifications ONC/HNC
- Aerospace industry experience
- Experience Using Microscopes.
Skills & Knowledge Required
- Ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex, and fast paced environment.
- Experience in manual measurement techniques & tools.
- Experience using CMM, QCT Software is preferable.
- Exposure to Continuous Improvement.
- Understanding of FOD control and prevention.
Experience Required
- Working to AS9100.
- Detailed mechanical inspection in an aviation environment.
- Working to AS9102.
- Experience in flight critical parts and procedures.
Personal Skills Required
- Good command of the English language, both written and spoken
- Good numeracy skills
- Ability to work in cross-functional process improvement teams.
