FULL DESCRIPTION

Wellbeing Worker: Boxing for Wellbeing

Location: Schools and locality hubs across Oxfordshire (Oxford, Oxfordshire)

Salary: £14.10 – £15.17 per hour

Contract: Locum (casual) – Various hours per week

Experience: Entry-level

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Boxing for Wellbeing sessions in schools and community settings
  • Facilitate group workshops, assemblies, and wellbeing activities
  • Promote mental health awareness among children, young people, and adults
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for participants
  • Adapt sessions to meet the needs of different groups
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, schools, and partner organisations
  • Travel to various locations across Oxfordshire to deliver sessions

Essential Skills & Experience

Knowledge & Understanding

  • Good understanding of mental health issues and the needs of children, young people, and adults
  • Understanding of safeguarding practices for children and adults

Experience

  • Experience working in mental health, wellbeing, or a related field
  • Experience working in demanding or fast-paced environments
  • Significant experience delivering group-based educational or wellbeing activities
  • Experience creating and delivering presentations or training sessions

Qualifications & Training

  • Completion of Boxercise (or equivalent boxing fitness) training

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Basic IT skills (e.g. email, documents, online platforms)
  • Ability to travel to different sites (a driving licence and access to a vehicle may be beneficial)
