Locum Run Leader

About the Role

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] supports people experiencing mental health challenges to become more active by removing barriers to sport and physical activity. As a Locum Run Leader, you will lead small group running sessions or provide one-to-one support, help participants build confidence and improve wellbeing, support individuals to set and achieve personal activity goals, and create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.

Essential Knowledge and Skills

• Understanding of mental health issues and the needs of those experiencing them
• Knowledge of safeguarding children and adults
• Awareness of confidentiality and GDPR principles
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Basic IT skills and good organisational ability

Essential Experience

• Experience supporting individuals or groups with wellbeing or mental health needs
• Ability to support people in setting and achieving personal goals
• Experience working in a team and communicating effectively
• Experience identifying and managing risk (with support where appropriate)

Desirable (but not essential)

• Experience in co-production or community-based services
• Experience with data collection and outcome tracking
• Experience networking or working with partner organisations
• Experience supporting people with multiple or complex needs
