FULL DESCRIPTION

Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal

Midforest Veterinary Practice is seeking a confident and experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their team in Lyndhurst, Hampshire. This full-time role offers a salary up to £70,000 DOE plus welcome and relocation bonuses.

Role Overview

As a Primary Care Veterinary Surgeon at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], you'll work collaboratively to deliver high-quality patient and client care. You'll handle a varied caseload including cats, dogs, rabbits, and occasional exotic pets. The role has a bias towards consultations with routine surgical work including many dental procedures. There is significant sole charge, but support is available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high standard of patient and client care
  • Work four 10-hour days (Monday to Thursday) with Fridays off
  • Participate in a 1 in 5 Saturday morning rota (8:30am–12:30pm) as sole charge
  • No out-of-hours or on-call commitments
  • Develop clinical skills and share knowledge with colleagues

Requirements

  • Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility) with the RCVS
  • Clinical practice experience with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Proactive approach to learning and development
  • Professionalism, reliability, and ability to work independently and collaboratively
