Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Groom to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily care and maintenance of both the yard and horses, ensuring their health and well-being is at the forefront of your mind. This role requires a strong understanding of horses, as well as the ability to perform physical tasks associated with grooming and maintaining a busy stable yard.

Duties

• Provide daily grooming services for horses, including brushing, washing, and hoof care.
• Assist in feeding and watering horses according to established schedules.
• Maintain cleanliness on the yard.
• Monitor the health and behaviour of horses, reporting any concerns to the supervisor.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks on equipment used for grooming and stable management.
• Operate hand tools safely for various tasks related to horse care and stable upkeep.
• Assist with heavy lifting tasks, such as moving bales of hay or bags of feed.

Requirements

• Previous experience in animal care or working with horses is essential.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 25 kg) regularly throughout the day.
• You must be already fit and of a sensible riding weight.
• A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is essential.
• Excellent organisational skills to manage daily tasks efficiently.
• You must be a team player and organised.
