Sheet Metal Press Brake Operator / Workshop Operative

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Ltd is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Press Brake Operator/Workshop Operative to join their team in Poole, Dorset. Permanent position offering an annual salary of £30,000, working 39.5 hours per week (Mon-Thu 8.30am-4.30pm, Fri 8.30am-4.00pm).

Role Details

We are one of the UK's leading suppliers of architectural aluminium profiles within the construction industry, and we are looking for a passionate and experienced Sheet Metal Press Brake Operator/Workshop Operative to join our amazing team here in Poole, Dorset.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for producing our EVA metal trims and flashings to the required specification, quantity and quality. In addition, you will produce bespoke 'Special' profiles to customer requirements/drawings. General assistance within the workshop may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • To check all equipment prior to use.
  • Working with CNC-machinery (Guillotine, Brake Press Turret Punch etc).
  • To operate the Workshop manufacturing machinery, ensuring all safety Procedures and Practices are adhered to at all times.
  • To maintain equipment and workplace in a clean, tidy and safe condition.
  • Be able to read and understand technical drawings.
  • To receive, check and make-up EVA, aluminium and/or galvanised metal trims in accordance with Customer orders.
  • To assist customers with handling and loading of consignments together with documentation.
  • To unload delivery vehicles by forklift, or by hand, and allocate stock to correct holding areas.
  • If required, work within the powder coating plant to prepare materials for pre-treatment.
  • If required, help operate the pre-treatment line and pack materials for dispatch.

Essential

  • A proven track record within the sheet metal fabrication industry with a good understanding of using press brakes and guillotines.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Positive and can-do attitude.
  • Solid awareness of Health & Safety within the workplace.

Desired

  • CNC Turret Punch machine use and/or knowledge.
  • Fibre Laser cutting machine use and/or knowledge.
  • Powder Coating Equipment use and/or knowledge.
  • Forklift License.
