Engine Cadetship - January 2027

This is a training programme for individuals interested in marine engineering, combining academic study with hands-on sea experience. Cadets will learn to operate and maintain ship engine room systems, with tuition fees fully covered. The role requires UK/EEA citizenship and UK residency. Candidates should have GCSEs in Maths, English, and Science, and demonstrate teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Marine Engineering Cadet, you’ll learn how to operate and maintain the ship’s engine room and mechanical systems. You’ll develop the ability to assess complex technical issues, make quick decisions, and implement effective solutions—all while gaining experience on board a modern cruise ship.

Entry Requirements

  • Four GCSEs (or Scottish equivalents) at grades 9–5 (A*–C), including Maths, English, and Science (with significant physical science content)
  • UK or EEA citizenship
  • UK residency for at least one year prior to application
  • The right to live and work in the UK without restrictions
