What You’ll Be Doing

As a deck officer cadet, you’ll learn how to navigate by both traditional and modern means, supervise the crew at a variety of tasks, and ensure the overall safe operation of the ship.

We’re searching for resilient, curious, and motivated individuals who thrive in dynamic environments. If you’re a team player with strong communication skills and a passion for the sea, we want to hear from you!

You should be: Calm under pressure, Adaptable and quick-thinking, Eager to learn and grow, Interested in engineering and practical skills.

Entry Requirements

  • Four GCSEs (or Scottish equivalents) at grades 9–5 (A*–C), including Maths, English, and Science (with significant physical science content)
  • UK or EEA citizenship
  • UK residency for at least one year prior to application
  • The right to live and work in the UK without restrictions
