Team Leader (South Wales)

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Team Leader for the South Wales region to oversee the servicing, maintenance, and repair of Enercon wind turbines. The role involves leading a team of technicians, ensuring safety and quality standards, managing customer relationships, and coordinating operations with the Service Manager.

As Team Leader, you’ll take the lead in your region of South Wales, ensuring our Enercon wind turbines are serviced, maintained, and repaired to the highest standards, with safety always front and centre. You’ll be the driving force behind your team: motivating, mentoring and supporting technicians while ensuring excellent technical quality, smooth operations and strong communication with our customers and internal teams. You’ll work closely with the Service Manager, providing regular updates, sharing insights, and giving feedback on team performance, all while keeping turbines turning and energy flowing.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Carry out routine inspections and maintenance on onshore wind turbines
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and technical issues
  • Perform component repairs and replacements to minimise downtime
  • Input into monthly reports on accountability, faults and performance
  • Ensure checklists, snag lists and remaining items are completed
  • Keep accurate service and maintenance records
  • Support commissioning, turbine onboarding, and major component exchanges
  • Stay up to date with industry developments and best practices
  • Take ownership of regional stock levels and coordinate spare parts with Supply Chain
  • Deliver regional inductions for new technicians
  • Act as the on-site point of contact for customers
  • Lead by example and build a strong regional safety culture
  • Ensure strict adherence to all safety procedures and protocols
  • Review and improve QHSE documentation
  • Take responsibility for the safe operation of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Manage regional vehicle fleet standards and inspections
  • Provide regular updates and escalate issues to the Service Manager
  • Run bi-weekly or monthly toolbox meetings
  • Supervise and inspect the work of Level 1 and Level 2 technicians
  • Mentor technicians and support them towards AT status
  • Share knowledge with the Control Room and encourage open collaboration
  • Support appraisals and probation reviews with clear feedback
  • Work closely with Service Planning for scheduled and unscheduled work
  • Understand and apply the escalation process
  • Spend one day every second week out of the field to focus on Team Leader responsibilities

What You Bring

Essential Requirements

  • Valid driver’s licence
  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Electrical/mechanical education or wind turbine certification
  • Authorised Technician (AT) with completed Level 2 training
  • Willingness and potential to lead a team (previous people management is a bonus, not a must)
  • Strong commitment to safety-first working
  • Technical turbine knowledge is desirable, not essential
