Job Description

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a School Cook for a temporary role in the Howden Area. The successful candidate will provide nutritious food in a clean, cheerful environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Food planning and preparation: checks with head cook, maintains records, orders supplies, prepares and cooks food, follows receiving and storage procedures, organizes stock, assists with menu planning, standardizes portions, ensures compliance with regulations, sets up serving lines, maintains wastage log, assists with stocktakes, clears dining hall, uses till.
• Staff Management: directs dining hall employees, plans work schedules, reviews timesheets, supervises subordinate staff.
• Hygiene: oversees cleaning of kitchen and dining areas, directs sanitation procedures, plans cleaning schedules.
• Catering Equipment: monitors kitchen safety, ensures proper storage, identifies maintenance needs.
• Additional Duties: carries out reasonable tasks as directed, works within school policies.

Requirements

• Food Hygiene certificate
• DBS certificate
