Key Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare a varied menu that meets the nutritional needs of residents and patients.
- Ensure meals are prepared and served on time.
- Adhere to all food hygiene and safety standards.
- Cater for specific dietary requirements, including allergies and special diets.
- Work within a budget while maintaining high standards of food quality.
- Manage kitchen staff, including training and scheduling.
- Order and manage inventory of kitchen supplies and ingredients.
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment.
- Engage with residents and patients to receive feedback and make improvements to the menu
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience as a Chef, preferably within a care home, respite, or rehabilitation setting.
- Knowledge of food hygiene regulations and safety standards.
- Experience in menu planning and catering for special dietary requirements.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- A compassionate and patient approach to working with elderly residents and patients.
