Job Description

Room Leader - Beaconsfield

Salary - up to £28,000 gross per annum

Hours - 40 per week (4 long days or 5 x 8 hour days)

Setting opening - 7.30am to 6.30pm all year around

Job Purpose

As a Room Leader you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality early years education and care. You will support children’s learning and development through planned, purposeful play, ensuring every child feels safe, valued, and inspired to learn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  • Act as a key person, supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing.
  • Observe, assess and record progress to inform next steps.
  • Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment (indoors and outdoors).
  • Support personal care routines and promote positive behaviour.
  • Work in partnership with parents and carers, sharing progress and updates.
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records, including learning journals.
  • Contribute to teamwork and ongoing professional development.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework.
  • Experience in an early years setting.
  • Confident in planning, assessment and record keeping.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.

Desirable:

  • Paediatric First Aid certificate.
  • Key person experience.
  • Knowledge of SEND and inclusive practice.
  • Experience using online learning journals.

Shift: 40 hours per week
