What we’re looking for

The purpose of the job is to contribute to a cost effective and customer focused, reliable gas service by carrying out routine and non-routine work across the district as an individual or as a team leader. The job holder will carry out repairs to our network, undertaking all aspects of maintenance, inspection and modification of all plant and equipment associated with the pipeline gas transportation system and third party sites.

We’ll trust you to

• Receive instructions and requests, plan and organise resources to ensure work is carried out efficiently
• Undertake maintenance, inspection and modification of pipeline gas transportation system
• Provide training, advice, guidance and support to teams/individuals
• Work within and promote team working across all [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] activities
• Ensure health and safety of self and others
• Work various shift patterns including weekends and evenings, and participate in 24/7 standby rota

You’ll need to have

• Good practical skills
• Basic engineering principles and skills
• An understanding of on-site health and safety and all aspects of gas safety
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
• Full UK Driving Licence
