Nursery Deputy Manager

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Nursery Deputy Manager in Worcester. This is a fixed-term contract for 6 months with potential to extend. Salary: £34,652 annually. Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:15am - 6pm, shift patterns, 40 hours per week.

Job Description

Fantastic opportunity to join this friendly team at a private day nursery in the Worcester area. The ideal candidate must have a solid understanding of the EYFS framework, excellent knowledge of safeguarding practice, and a drive for educating children. The Deputy Manager will support the Nursery Manager, help out in rooms when needed, but be based in the office predominantly.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Either NNEB, CACHE, NVQ, EYE, Level 3, or equivalent in early years childcare.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience, at least 2 years in a senior role within a childcare setting.
  • Excellent knowledge of the EYFS, health & safety, safeguarding.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to liaise with and develop good relationships with parents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Nursery Manager in day to day operations.
  • Adhere to all nursery policies and procedures.
  • Manage the nursery in the absence of the Manager.
  • Work as part of the Staff Team and liaise between Staff and Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework.
  • Ensure good practice as per EYFS Practice Guidance and legal regulations.
  • Execute responsibilities of Nursery Manager when deputising, ethically and lawfully.
  • Assist with monitoring staff performance across the nursery.
  • Empower the team to deliver rich learning opportunities.
  • Assist with recruitment and induction of new staff.
